On the 01.10.2016 the KFN started a research project on the behalf of “Organized Crime in the area of burglary theft” which aims at acquiring knowledge about the structures, the perpetrators, the effectiveness of various investigative measures and international cooperations. Existing knowledge and data of the KFN will be used in the research project.

The project is financed by the fund for internal security by the European Union and capital resources from the state of Lower Saxony. First results will be published in August 2017. The project has a total duration of 30 months.
